Complementing the incredible versatility of the companyís history-making JX-S777 AV Selector, JVC is rolling out a companion model JX-S555 to meet consumer demand for a lower priced, yet full-featured version. This year, JVCís new JX-S555 complements its flagship JX-S777 AV Selector by offering consumers a lower priced alternative. The JX-S555 is designed to provide seamless switching between DVD players, analog and DV camcorders, VHS and/or S-VHS VCRs, and DSS and DTV products. To ensure superior picture quality and to prevent any sound or picture deterioration, both models incorporate wide video frequency response and high quality circuitry for incoming and outgoing signals to maintain their original high quality. The JX-S555 is designed to accommodate a state-of-the-art home theatre system and is outfitted with one front A/V input, four rear A/V inputs, two A/V outputs, two A/V monitor outputs, and one audio monitor output. Two lines of five A/V inputs are component video (YCbCr) and optical to connect to DVD, DSS and other digital standards. This totals five inputs and four outputs.A wide bandwidth 12MHz video amp enables the JX-S555 to transmit high quality video signals with horizontal resolution of 960 lines (composite) and 2,400 lines (component) of resolution without any loss of quality. (Accommodates 30MHz video signal for component video terminals.) The JX-S555 is equipped with a Y/C separator/mixer circuit, which enables mutual dubbing between S-Video and composite video. The built-in three-line digital Y/C separator circuitry effectively reduces signal deterioration such as dot interference or color shifting. All terminals and connectors are gold-plated, assuring superior signal transmission and higher resistance to corrosion.A dubbing lock function on the JS-X555 enables users to monitor the picture from one source while dubbing from another. Video input (S-Video, composite and left/right audio) are conveniently located on the front for quick video editing connections or temporary hookup of a camcorder. Two optical inputs and optical output and a monitor out are located at the rear of the machine. The dubbing lock function prevents accidental switching during dubbing or editing. A full-function remote control unit is provided. The JX-S555 is available as of the end of February 2001 at a nationally advertised value of $549.95. The JX-S777 is currently available at a Nationally Advertised Value of $899.95.For more information on JVCís JX-S555 AV Selector or other JVC accessory products, visit JVCís Web site at www.jvc.com.
