BARCO has introduced a compact, high brightness DLPô projector for large-screen business presentation, digital HD movies and advertising screenings in theatres - the BARCO CineView 5. The CineView 5 combines the state-of-the-art DLP technology from Texas Instruments with BARCOís expertise in mechanics, optics and electronics design to produce true-to-life images on eight- to ten-meter-wide screens. Thanks to the unique Constant Light Output (CLO) feature, the initial brightness level of the projector is maintained much longer than any competitive projection system. The projector has been designed for unsurpassed flexibility. It displays all analog and digital video sources, HDTV and HD-SDI signals as well as with high resolution computers and workstations. A full range of click-and-playô lenses with a broad lens shift up to 71 percent horizontally and even 118 percent vertically allows easy installation in whatever configuration. In addition, by introducing True Seamless Switching, BARCO enables smooth switching between sources without freezing of the last image or fade to black. This switching can even be done through a set of predefined transitions, including wipes, box in/out, and dissolve - unique BARCO capabilities. Keith Morris, Market Manager, BARCO Digital Cinema, stated, ""The CineView 5 is a cost-effective solution, which provides extra revenues for exhibitors, as it allows the cinema theatre to be used for alternative applications, such as advertising, documentaries, gaming, live broadcast of sports, and opera productions, to name only a few.""For more information about BARCO, visit www.barco.com.
