Ch.1Æ announced its agreement with Sylvania to integrate its high resolution Internet and entertainment TV platform into the brandís line of high definition TVs. Ch.1ís Internet appliance module will be built into Sylvaniaís digital TVs and will operate without the need of an external PC. Sylvaniaís first Ch.1 enabled HD-ready Internet TV offering will be a 27-inch 4:3 CRT with a suggested retail price of $899, and will be available in May 2001. Ch.1 network services and localized interactive channel guide will be offered to consumers starting at $8.95 a month.The 27-inch Internet/TV supports standard NTSC via a built-in tuner and other devices such as DVD players, VCRs, DSS, and cable boxes in (480p) progressive line-doubled mode. The display will also support HDTV formats including 1080i, computer sources up to SVGA resolution (800 x 600), and selected USB devices.
