Niles Audio Corporation has added two new weather-resistant loudspeakers to its lineup of indoor/outdoor loudspeakers, including its first ""stereo input"" speaker and a new high-end model for conventional stereo audio installations. The introduction of the stereo input OS10SI (patent pending), featuring an application specific design that is a single speaker solution providing stereo imaging, and the new OS25, featuring Nilesí latest two-way driver technology, reflect a growing market demand for quality audio products to suit diverse listening environments, said a company official. The new OS10SI features a 5-inch dual-voice coil woofer, which mechanically sums both left and right channels, and two 1-inch ElastoDynamicÆ dome tweeters, allowing for dual-input stereo. The tweeters are set on opposite sides of a double-angled baffle, providing superior sound dispersion and coverage outdoors. Stereo input loudspeakers are designed to solve key challenges for professional custom installers: providing optimum sound coverage for applications where a single ""sweet spot"" is impractical or impossible, such as a large patio, or in a confined area where only one speaker is appropriate. Housed in a weather resistant, polypropylene cabinet (11 x 8 3/8 x 7 9/16 inches) with rustproof aluminum grille and fitted with an adjustable mounting bracket, the OS10SI is sold singly for the suggested retail price of $279.95 and is available in white or black.New OS25 Gives Installers Extra Option For Quality Indoor And Outdoor Stereo Taking a major step towards improved high fidelity in outdoor speakers, Niles has introduced the OS25, its best weather-resistant speaker to date, featuring driver technology from Nilesí latest models of in-wall HD series indoor loudspeakers. The OS25 woofer is constructed with the new 6.5-inch injection molded TCC (talc-carbon-ceramic) cone, a high power BL magnet, and a vented pole piece to prevent non-linear distortion. The OS25 also incorporates Nilesí new 1-inch Teteron dome tweeter. Housed in a polypropylene cabinet (13 x 9-7/8 x 9 inches) that is available in white or black, with rustproof aluminum grille and fitted with an adjustable mounting bracket, the OS25 has a suggested retail price of $649.95 per pair.
