Marantz America, the exclusive U.S. distributor of Britain's renowned Mordaunt-Short loudspeakers, is now shipping Mordaunt-Short's new Declaration Series Premiere System 300 compact home theatre system to Marantz retailers nationwide. The Premiere is a value-priced high performance surround sound home theatre package consisting of left and right front and rear satellite speakers, plus a center channel speaker and 8-inch powered subwoofer.The Mordaunt-Short Premiere sets a new benchmark in compact loudspeaker system performance, providing a dynamic, expansive surround sound listening experience with superb sonic accuracy and exceptional resolution from space-saving, unobtrusive enclosures that blend inconspicuously into any room.To achieve its outstanding full-range sonic performance, the Premiere system utilizes a host of advanced driver technologies and premium-quality materials, with all transducers designed and engineered in-house. The loudspeakers feature Mordaunt-Short's exclusive CPCô (Continuous Profile Cone) inverted-dome hard-anodized aluminum mid/bass drivers, a configuration that provides exceptional transient response with ultra-low distortion. The one-inch liquid-cooled, aluminum dome tweeters provide extraordinary clarity and extension with open, musically-detailed highs. The tweeters are mounted in a specially designed contoured recess that controls their dispersion pattern for optimum imaging and soundfield reproduction. The satellites feature a 3.5-inch mid/bass driver plus a 1-inch aluminum tweeter, while the dedicated center channel speaker employs a tweeter surrounded by dual 3.5-inch mid/bass drivers in a D'Appolito configuration, to provide a dispersion pattern that blends seamlessly with the satellite speakers, along with maximum dialogue clarity.The satellites and center channel speaker are complemented by the system's powered subwoofer, featuring a built-in 100-watt amplifier driving an 8-inch long-throw woofer to deliver tight, articulate bass response with exceptional low-frequency extension. The subwoofer includes adjustable level and crossover frequency controls plus a phase-reversal switch, enabling it to integrate perfectly with the main loudspeakers in any home theatre system and room. All loudspeakers in the Premiere System 300 utilize premium parts and construction, including the company's exclusive DVPCô (Dual Value Parallel) audiophile-grade capacitors and short signal path crossovers, high power neodymium driver magnets, and high-saturation inductors. The enclosures are built from MDF and feature dual-layer baffles, constructed from two layers of different density materials to attenuate unwanted resonances.
