Onkyo Software Upgrade For DolbyÆ Pro Logic II And DTSÆ-ES Now Available

Onkyo Corp. has announced the immediate availability of software that will upgrade several of its home theatre receivers and preamplifiers to handle DTSÆ-ES Discrete 6.1, DTS Neo:6 and DolbyÆ Pro Logic II processing. This upgrade can be installed in the Onkyo TX-DS989 AV receiver, Integra DTR-9.1 AV receiver, and Integra Research RDC-7 AV preamplifier/processor.These products, which were introduced in 2000, each incorporate a ""future-proof,"" upgradeable processor which is accessible through a rear panel RS-232 port. The upgrade kit consists of a CD-ROM, which includes an installation program, upgrade firmware and manual, and the required serial cable for connection to the RS-232 port of a Windows 98/2000/Me-based PC or laptop.
