Bryston To Introduce The PowerPac 250 At CEDIA EXPO 2001

3-Aug-01

Bryston Ltd. is showcasing their PowerPac line of modular, single-channel amplifiers designed for on-speaker or near-speaker mounting at CEDIA EXPO 2001. The latest addition to the line being introduced at CEDIA EXPO is the PowerPac 250, which is essentially a monaural version of the 4B-ST. With a proliferation of surround sound systems, the popularity of powering individual loudspeaker drivers, and renewed appreciation for the importance of short cable runs between amplifier and loudspeaker, the PowerPac amplifiers simultaneously fit the needs and improve the fidelity of today's evolving home theatre loudspeaker systems. The PowerPac line now consists of three amplifiers that deliver 60 watts, 120 watts or 250 watts into eight ohms. Not surprisingly, Bryston christened them the PowerPac 60, the PowerPac 120 and the PowerPac 250, with each representing a monaural version of Bryston's hugely popular 2B-LP, 3B-ST and 4B-ST standalone stereo amplifiers. Each ships with five-way banana jack outputs, RCA (unbalanced) and XLR (balanced) inputs, and a ground lift switch to mitigate any system hum. The PowerPac 120 and 250 have 12V triggers for remote turn on. ""In a world where the old 'stereo amplifier, stereo speakers' paradigm is being thrashed from every direction, the Bryston PowerPac amplifiers offer solutions to meet home theatre enthusiasts' changing needs,"" remarked Karen Richardson, Vice President of U.S. Consumer Sales, Bryston. ""While the PowerPac amplifiers can be bolted onto the back of any speaker for everything from home theatre systems to stand-alone subwoofers to studio 5.1 systems, they work exceptionally well with our line of PMC (Professional Monitor Company) transmission line speakers. PMC loudspeakers are now PowerPac-ready with machined inserts for screws and Bryston PowerPacs fit snuggly into the back. The Bryston PowerPac is definitely an idea whose time has come.""
