According to figures released by the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA), manufacturer-to-dealer sales of audio products for home theatre systems increased substantially during the month of June.Reflective of the recent swell in consumer demand for home theatre products, dollar sales of five-piece speaker packages grew by an impressive 667 percent to $8.4 million, up from $1.1 million in June 2000. Likewise, six-piece speaker packages increased by 81 percent and home theatre-in-a-box grew by 140 percent over June 2000 figures.""Home theatre continues to be a rising star in the consumer electronics industry,"" said Gary Shapiro, President and CEO of the CEA.
