Princeton Graphic SystemsÆ, manufacturer of multiple award-winning HDTV monitors, computer and convergence displays, introduces the AS4.2HD, a 42-inch viewable, LCD rear-projection HD-ready, NTSC TV and computer monitor. Designed for the home theatre and presentation markets, versatility, compact size and value are the strong suits of the AS4.2HD. The display system supports video, 480p, 1080i and 720p (letterbox) digital formats as well as displaying VGA, SVGA, XGA and SXGA (1280 x 1024) graphics from computer sources. AS4.2HD comes standard with a built-in deinterlacer/scaler and wireless remote, and is scheduled to begin shipping in the fall of 2001.Featuring a 6.3-inch polysilicon LCD panel and a full range of source inputs, the display has been designed for a wide range of applications. The LCD's video processing system supports high performance refresh rates to 85 kHz and a 24-bit, 16.7 million-color palette. This allows for native display of today's leading PC and Macintosh computer resolutions to (1280 x 768) SXGA and HDTV formats of 480p, 1080i and 720p. Video source inputs include RGBHV on D-Sub 15-pin, selectable HD or SD component video (YPbPr) on RCA, two S-Video on mini-DIN, composite on RCA and TV/cable/DSS on RF connections.To improve the resolution of all standard video sources including the TV's two NTSC tuners, a built-in deinterlacer/scaler (line doubler) has been included. The ""line doubler"" features auto-source detection to employ a 3:2 pull-down technique if a film source is identified. This advanced performance creates a progressively scanned 480p image that is interlace artifact-free and perfectly suited to optimize standard definition content from DVD, VCR, DSS, and PC or video games.The display offers outstanding command and control via an on-screen display. Two 10-watt speakers support stereo or 3D Sound reproduction.Responsibly engineered to be EPA Energy Starô and VESAô compliant, the AS4.2HD features exceptional build quality to ensure many years of trouble-free, environment-friendly usage. The AS4.2HD comes with a one-year standard warranty on CRT, parts and labor.
