Sampo America, a wholly owned subsidiary of the leading Taiwanese consumer electronics manufacturer Sampo Corp., has expanded its product line to include a DVD player with a photo display management system, the DVE-631CF. Building on the features of the original DVE product line, the DVE-631CF is the first product on the market to include a Compact Flash (CF) card reader. Both the CF cards and CD-R/RW can store photos, MP3 and video files. Once either the CF card or CD-R/RW is inserted, the television screen displays several folders so users can easily navigate and retrieve files using a remote control. ""Consumers no longer have to rely on a computer to share photos with family and friends,"" Brian Ballard, sales director, Sampo America, explains. ""We're giving our retail partners a broader DVD product line and consumers more options. It's an illustration that Sampo can be a major player in the digital consumer electronics space.""Sampo's new DVD player is equipped with JPEG photo display technology, allowing users to view their favorite digital photos on their television set. The company's new product can process JPEG photos of various resolutions. The DVE-631CF also comes outfitted with MP3 and MPEG1 video playback capabilities and CD-R/RW support, so users can experience downloaded music on high quality sound systems. In addition, the Sampo products support multiple disc formats, including DVD, Video CD and Super VCD discs. The player is also compatible with CF cards of all memory sizes, so consumers can enjoy a variety of programming options. Sampo's new DVD product is available regionally through small and medium-sized consumer electronics retailers and dealers, as well as Internet channels. Suggested retail price $249.99. ""Sampo is demonstrating that the company is an innovator in the DVD arena,"" Ballard said. ""We're also showing the consumer that we have made products that deliver great DVD performance and have added product features -- all at an affordable price.""For more information about Sampo America, visit www.sampoamericas.com.
