Fujitsu, the world leader in flat-panel plasma display monitors and Crestron Electronics, the manufacturer of advanced remote control systems have recently entered into agreements aimed at facilitating the integration of each company's products in custom installations and commercial applications. Crestron has become a member of Fujitsu's Plasmavision Solutions Partnership Program, while Fujitsu has signed on as a member of Crestron's I2P (Internet Industry Partnership) program. Both programs encompass a wide range of resources and activities that are designed to maximize connectivity of Fujitsu's Plasmavision SlimScreen monitors in a Crestron control environment. Fujitsu's Plasmavision Solution Partnership Program provides dealers and reps with technical resources and hands-on training, and encourages close collaboration between company engineers and design personnel in creating home and commercial audio/video system solutions. Crestron's I2P is a program designed to allow partner manufacturers' products to operate seamlessly in a Crestron systems environment. The program supports audio/video, security, HVAC, lighting and other controlled devices that may be incorporated into a commercial or residential system.Tedd Rozylowicz, Fujitsu Senior Vice President, noted, ""As more and more consumers and businesses install audio/video systems of increasing complexity and sophistication, the control interface becomes vitally important. Our partnership with Crestron assures that consumers will be able to obtain the maximum performance and ease of use from our Plasmavision monitors, with total systems integration in even the most sophisticated and elaborate home theatre and commercial installations.""The partnership has already yielded several significant developments. Crestron is now supplying downloadable control modules for each Fujitsu Plasmavision monitor, which are available at the company's online Design Center, located at www.crestron.com. The Design Center also provides design tips, installation diagrams, examples of Crestron/Plasmavision control screens, plus many other useful resources. Both companies are planning to provide cross-product training to personnel. Fujitsu is slated to conduct dealer training at Crestron's upcoming nationwide dealer ""Boot Camps"" and training facilities at corporate headquarters, while Crestron intends to offer product training at upcoming Fujitsu seminars.Several major installations bringing Fujitsu and Crestron together have been completed, including the installation of 116 Plasmavision monitors operated by Crestron control systems at two Ameristar casino hotels in Vicksburg, Mississippi and Council Bluffs, Iowa. In addition, the two companies will support each other with product displays at major trade shows, including multiple installations at CES 2002.For more information, visit www.plasmavision.com and www.crestron.com.
