The Advanced Television Systems Committee (ATSC), the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA), and the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) are again partnering to showcase digital television (DTV) products and technology in the DTV Store at the upcoming NAB2002 Convention, April 6-11 in Las Vegas, Nevada. A multitude of manufacturers will display integrated televisions, monitors utilizing various display technologies, receivers/set-top boxes, PC solutions, antennas, and more. The DTV Store will be located again in the Las Vegas Convention Center's Grand Lobby. ""Local broadcasters are leaders in the digital television revolution, and we're pleased that the NAB convention will serve as a showcase for highlighting DTV products,"" said NAB President and CEO Edward O. Fritts. ""The DTV Store at NAB2002 will again demonstrate the commitment of local broadcasters to this new technology, and the determination of manufacturers to bringing the next generation of television to American consumers."" ""Consumers are bringing DTV into their homes and that's why this year's DTV Store will be both exciting and especially relevant,"" said Mark Richer, President of ATSC. He added, ""This year's exhibit will also include demonstrations of new and emerging technologies such as DTV Closed Captioning and the DTV Applications Software Environment (DASE) Standard."" The DTV Store will have random daily prize drawings featuring DTVs and other consumer electronics products. Entry forms will be available at the DTV Store and in NAB conference bags. All entries must be submitted at the DTV Store where full rules and restrictions will be available. Daily drawing times and winners will be announced and posted at the DTV Store. Manufacturers and organizations including the ATSC Forum, Digital Stream Technology, Dolby Laboratories, LG, Mitsubishi, Panasonic, Philips, Samsung, Sharp, Sony, Thomson, and Zenith have taken the lead in sponsoring the DTV Store. A list of products to be showcased in the DTV Store and for the daily prize drawings will be announced in late March.
