Samsung Electronics USA, Inc., has unveiled its new line of DynaFlat direct-view HDTV monitors. Three models arrive this summer, offering all the essential features of HDTV, with advanced models to follow offering the step up benefits of an inverse 3:2 pull-down system, digital signal processing (DSP), and BBE audio enhancement. The lineup includes a 30-inch widescreen model available for under $1,400. There are Five DynaFlat models in all -- the 27-inch 4:3 TXM2797HF, 32-inch 4:3 TXM3297HF, the 27-inch 4:3 TXM2796HF, 32-inch 4:3 TXM3296HF, and the 30-inch 16:9 widescreen TXM3096WHF. John Lavoie, Marketing Manager, Visual Display Group, Samsung Electronics USA, Inc., states, ""Samsung is taking a lead in bringing DTV to the consumer mainstream. With pristine digital quality picture and sound at a new level of affordability, the DynaFlat lineup offers benefits for even analog sets and is a perfect match for one of Samsung's top selling DVD players. As a premier digital display manufacturer and provider and also a producer of award-winning DVD players, Samsung is dedicated to marketing products that offer the most advanced digital entertainment possible."" Samsung's 27-inch TXM2797HF and the 32-inch TXM3297HF aim to offer advanced video and audio features at reasonable costs. Both models include 3:2 pull-down technology, which converts 24 frame-per-second film-sourced video and delivers video output at 30 frames per second, eliminating the blurring and ghosting inherent in film-to-video conversion. Additionally, the DSP function enhances even regular analog TV. Incoming over-the-air analog TV signals -- as well as all other analog signals -- are processed by Samsung DSP technology, with the input signal converted to digital and analyzed for an enhanced video output. An additional offering from both sets is the BBE audio feature, which is said to result in dialogue which is easier to understand, and sound that is more clear and audible. The TXM3297HF includes two tuners, which facilitate picture-in-picture (PIP) and split PIP (side-by-side) features, allowing simultaneous viewing of programming and enhancing the home theatre experience. Affordability and variety can be found in the 27-inch TXM2796HF, 32-inch TXM3296HF, and 30-inch widescreen TXM3096WHF, which, along with all other DynaFlat models, offer all the benefits of HDTV, including a Pro Chipô NTSC progressive-scan system, a 20-watt audio system, and an S-video input. These sets are enhanced with the addition of two HD component (YPbPr) video inputs, capable of accepting 480i, 480p, and 1080i. This entire lineup employs Samsung's state-of-the-art, proprietary DynaFlat technology. The company claims a perfectly flat image without the curvature, image distortion or glare that is associated with traditional TV screens. Shipping in May of 2002 are Samsung's 27-inch TXM2796HF ($999.99 MSRP) and 32-inch TXM3296HF ($1,399.99) 4:3 HDTV monitors. The 27-inch TXM2797HF ($1,099.99) and 32-inch TXM3297HF ($1,499.99) 4:3 HDTV monitors, and the TXM3096WHF ($1,399) 30-inch widescreen HDTV monitor will all arrive in June of 2002.
