8-Mar-02

Samsung has earned a CES Innovations Award for Design and Engineering at the 2002 Consumer Electronics Show for its 24-inch LTM245W LCD television. Samsung's LCD TV offers all-in-one versatility, as a full-featured, high resolution TV; an HDTV monitor (1080i, 720p, 480p); a PC-compatible display; and a video monitor that allows direct hookup of a DVD player, VCR, camcorder, or a video gaming device. Samsung's 24-inch model is one of a full line of slim, multimedia LCD TVs ranging in screen size from 15 to 40 inches -- claimed to be the world's largest -- that are hitting the home market in 2002. John Lavoie, Marketing Manager, Visual Display Group, Samsung Electronics USA, Inc., noted, ""The CES Innovation Award is always a great honor for Samsung. The company is dedicated to being first-to-market with innovative designs that maximize consumer benefit, and this top industry honor for our 24-inch LCD TV is one more sign that we are on the right track."" Samsung's new LTM245W 24-inch widescreen (16:9) LCD TV receives digital television signals with an optional set top receiver and offers additional video inputs. As a PC monitor, the LTM245W delivers 1920 x 1200 native screen resolution. The LTM245W offers high-definition resolution that is 1080i-, 720p-, and 480p-compatible. It boasts 350 cd/m2 brightness and 500:1 contrast ratio, and fast-switching pixel rates. The LTM245W consumes less power than traditional CRT-based televisions. The 24-inch LCD TV incorporates Samsung's PIP dual-screen feature. TV watchers can work on their PC without missing a moment of favorite TV or DVD programming. Samsung's LTM245W will be shipping in the second quarter of 2002 with an MSRP of $6,999.99. For more information about Samsung Electronics USA, Inc., visit www.samsungusa.com.
