Samsung And Warner Home Video Announce Father's Day DVD Promotion

As a special promotion for Father's Day, Samsung has an exclusive agreement with Warner Home Video to offer two free DVD movie classics with the purchase of any Samsung DVD player. From May 5 through June 15, 2002, anyone who buys a Samsung DVD player at a participating store gets free copies of Rodney Dangerfield's ""Caddyshack"" and Sylvester Stallone's ""Driven"" via a mail-in coupon. Samsung has a full line of new DVD players that include: - Samsung's DVD-S321 (MSRP $179.99, available as of February) features titanium finish front panels highlighting a 17-inch-wide chassis. A headphone jack and rotary volume control are on the front panel, along with a fluorescent display and jog shuttle control. Rear panel connections include composite, S-video, and component video outputs. The DVD-S321 is also among Samsung's first models to feature the palm-sized EZ Remote for navigation of key DVD player functions. - The DVD-P421 (MSRP $199.99, available April), in addition to the above, features 480p progressive scan video output with reverse 3/2 pulldown.- Samsung's DVD-P721M (MSRP $249.99, available April) also offers 480p progressive scan video output with inverse 3/2 pulldown and is among the first DVD players on the market to offer a Memory Stick slot for music and photo playback. Pictures can also be loaded from photo-CD compatible discs. - Samsung's DVD-A921M (MSRP $299.99, available in June) offers DVD-Audio playback capability, in addition to the featres of the DVD-P721M. It also offers HDCDÆ decoding. All Samsung DVD players are capable of playback of DVD, CD, CD-R, CD-RW, and MP3 formats.
