HDTV Magazine To Share Revenue With Active Supporters

1-Apr-02

HDTV Magazine (www.ilovehdtv.com) has announced that it will let new ""affiliates"" share financial benefits from the e-mailed magazine's growing consumer attraction. TV station operators, set makers and sellers, cable and satellite systems, as well as individuals will net up to 40 percent of the sale price as a cash incentive for every new subscriber they attract to the journal, long the prime source feeding growing U.S. consumer interest in the field. That interest is flourishing as increasing shipments of ""true"" high-definition television receivers reach consumer outlets -- super-clear, rich color sets with top-quality audio and theatre-style widescreens that finally let home viewers see all that moviemakers originally created. Reflecting the growing reach of the high-definition sector, affiliates will promote HDTV Magazine in a wide variety of ways unique to their own corner of the industry, all the way from R&D companies to user neighborhoods throughout the country. Affiliates will design their own ordering page when they sign up through the Internet (http://hdtvnews.com/promotion2.html). They can advertise, promote, and sell subscriptions in any manner they choose. Gary Shapiro, President of the Consumer Electronics Association in Arlington, VA, said, ""I urge every retailer selling HDTV to offer HDTV Magazine to customers as it offers a daily service providing information on national HDTV programming. It's a no brainer!"" ""This offer can be made,"" explained the magazine's Publisher, Dale E. Cripps, ""since our costs are held to a minimum with an e-mail-distributed publication. Cripps, a well-known HDTV personality, sees the Internet as ideal for expanding knowledge and adding interest in the field. ""That is exactly what the HDTV transition deserves right now,"" he added. ""The Internet spread from an inner circle of devotees to encompass hundreds of millions of people in all walks of life. It's clear that HDTV is starting to move along the same path,"" Cripps said. ""Our subscribers are the most enthusiastic you will ever find,"" said Howard V. Barton, Founder of the magazine and its Editor-in-Chief. ""They all love HDTV and their warm-hearted enthusiasm is absolutely infectious!"" For more information about HDTV Magazine, visit www.ilovehdtv.com.
