CEA Praises HDNet's Latest HDTV Broadcast Announcement

3-Apr-02

Praising HDNet's Major League Baseball (MLB) broadcast announcement, Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) President and CEO Gary Shapiro made the following statement: ""DTV owners have even more reason to celebrate their investment this spring. Already, consumers have enjoyed the first ever high definition (HD) Winter Olympics and added NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament coverage, and now DTV households will receive 80 Major League Baseball games in 1080i HD format beginning on April 13. That is 68 more MLB games delivered to consumers in HD than in 2000. ""Mark Cuban, HDNet's co-founder, has consistently provided DTV owners with new and exciting HD content. He and his network play a significant role in moving the DTV transition forward and I'm sure we can anticipate more HDNet broadcast announcements throughout the year.""
