DEPECHE MODE will follow the success of their ìOne Night In Paris, The Exciter Tourî Pay Per View by releasing the event as a DVD with special bonus footage May 28 (Hip-O/UMe). The DVD was directed by the pioneering bandís long-time artistic collaborator Anton Corbijn at the sold-out Palais Omnisports de Paris Bercy in front of 16,000 wildly enthusiastic fans as part of their massive 2001 worldwide tour. Fans can look forward to backstage footage that features one-on-one interviews with Dave Gahan, Martin Gore and Andrew Fletcher as well as a behind-the-scenes look at how they prepared for the concert. Says Fletcher: ìItís fantastic - thereís some stuff like Martin singing songs in the dressing room while heís putting on his make-up.î In addition, the DVD will include interviews with fans congregating from around the globe for the concert. The show was shot with 13 cameras to achieve an incredible illustration of the bandís intriguing and potent performance that gives viewers the sensation of actually being in the venue. The cutting-edge DVD will include a unique option that allows the viewer to select their favorite camera angles. Plus, fans can choose to watch the intriguing backdrop films Corbijn created specifically for the tour, accompanied by the tracks that inspired them. In support of the two million-selling ìExciterî album, the mega-successful and critically acclaimed ìExciter Tourî featured 84 performances for over 1.5 million fans in 24 countries. It included a North American arena/shed tour--on which they were joined by musicians Christian Eigner (drums), Peter Gordeno (keyboards) and Jordan Bailey and Georgia Lewis (backing vocals) - that visited 37 cities with multiple nights in New York City, Los Angeles and Anaheim. ìAs far as performing goes,î notes Gahan, ìI enjoyed this tour more than any other before.
