Samsung Introduces NEO DynaFlat DTV Series

Samsung Electronics America, Inc. announced the NEO DynaFlat series, which feature a styled cabinet, slimmer width, matching stand, DTV compatibility, built-in subwoofer/satellite sound system, and broad connectivity. The line includes the 27-inch TXM2798HF, the 32-inch TXM3298HF, and the 30-inch widescreen TXM3098WHF. John Lavoie, Marketing Manager, Visual Display Group, Samsung Electronics America, Inc., states, ""Samsung has designed the NEO DynaFlats to be not only the powerful center of any digital home entertainment system, but also the stylish centerpiece to any room in the house. The artistically designed, slim-width form factor leaves a small footprint, fits comfortably with any entertainment system, and enhances the look of any room. Additionally, the NEO's improved high-end screen features, circuitry, and performance stand a cut above and make viewing TV or movies an even more enjoyable experience."" Samsung's NEO cabinet design incorporates a flat-screen CRT and darker bezel to improve contrast, and a lighter cabinet to better match room decor. The cabinet incorporates a built-in subwoofer/satellite system with bottom-firing speakers that facilitates the slim form factor. Video processing features include Samsung's inverse 3:2 pull-down technology. Audio processing includes BBE audio, which boosts high and low frequencies, and a five-band equalizer. Additional features include an 8-bit/4 MHz 3D Y/C comb filter, an S-video input, and built-in two-tuner picture-in-picture (PIP) and split-screen PIP (side-by-side). The NEO lineup employs Samsung's DynaFlat technology, which offers a flat image, and is HDTV-capable with the addition of a digital satellite receiver, digital cable box, or an HDTV tuner. The NEO DynaFlat series models incorporate Samsung's Digital ProPicture conversion system for enhancement of analog signals. This three-stage system includes the Total DSP system, the Pro Chipô Plus NTSC-to-progressive scan system, and Defining Filter for detailing around image edges. Connections include a multi-purpose DTV/DVD/wideband component video input (YPbPr) that accepts 480i, 480p, and 1080i. The 27-inch TXM2798HF (MSRP $999), 32-inch TXM3298HF (MSRP $1,499) and 30-inch widescreen TXM3098WHF (MSRP $1,499) are all currently available.
