Ever since Philip Anselemo (Guitarist for Necrophagia & former lead vocalist of Pantera) lured the enigmatic vocalist Killjoy out of his self-imposed musical exile to reform Necrophagia in the mid-1990s, the duo have consistently created hideous soundtracks for your worse nightmares. Now those nightmares come to life through the release of Through the Eyes of the Dead Uncut on DVD. Considered to be one of the founders of Death Metal, Necrophagia dominated the underground music scene, releasing the now classic 1985 demo Death is Fun and 1986 debut Season of the Dead. The band split the following year and when the vocalistís good friend, Norwegian Black Metal pioneer Euronymous, was brutally murdered by Burzumís Count Grishnackh, Killjoy abandoned a solo career. ""Then Philip Anselemo contacted me,"" recalled Killjoy. ""He asked me why I stopped doing Necrophagia and said I was way ahead of my time. Although I told him that it was not what I wanted to do anymore, I agreed to meet with him. When he played a tape of the music he had written on the road, music that envisioned what Necrophagia would sound like, I was blown away. I said, 'letís do this.'""Anselemo unleashed a creative beast in Killjoy, thus rejuvenating Necrophagia.
