Sales Of Audio Products Continue To Climb In May

Continuing the strong sales seen in April, manufacturer-to-dealer sales of audio products for May 2002 grew more than 13 percent, according to figures released by the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA). This increase marks total revenue of more than $736 million for the month. Factory-to-dealer system sales experienced the most substantial leap, jumping 22 percent in May to $190 million in dollar sales. Aftermarket autosound and separate components also posted gains with 12 and 11 percent growth, respectively, compared to the same period in 2001.
