Music Video Distributors and Inaukustik are pleased to announce the home viewing release of Steve Lukather & Los Lobotomys - In Concert for North American distribution on DVD. Steve Lukather is one of the most celebrated guitar heroes in rock history - and not just for his work with the mega-successful band Toto. Steve Lukather was born on October 21, 1957 in Los Angeles - the metropolis of the music business. When he was seven, his father bought him his first guitar and young Steve was hooked. He taught himself the basics step-by-step, or copied from older friends at high school, such as Jeff Porcaro, who was already playing with Steely Dan when Steve met him. In 1976 he joined his first band. The combo called themselves Toto and in 1978 they put out their first album, which was an immediate hit, reaching number 9 in the US album charts and powered to success by the dynamic single ""Hold The Line"". Classic American mainstream rock with crisp up-tempo numbers and smooth ballads were the band's calling card - a style which was all the rage at the time and which Toto honed to perfection. The high point of Steve Lukather and Toto's career was in 1982. The band's album ""Toto IV"" went platinum and produced two massive hits, ""Africa"" and ""Rosanna"", which was dedicated to Steve's girlfriend at the time, the actress Rosanna Arquette. Steve Lukather also wanted to make an album of his own - one that exclusively bore his signature. Thus, in 1989 the versatile musician put out the CD ""Los Lobotomys"". Behind this name was a band put together from crack west coast session musicians, who only occasionally got together for live performances. ""Los Lobotomys"", which features no vocals, was recorded on April 29, 1989 at a club gig in west Los Angeles. This performance was filmed at Ohne Filter Studio in Germany on June 29, 1994. The tracks include: Hero With A 1000 Eyes Freedom Extinction Blues Dismemberment Never Walk Alone The Bomber Party In Simon's Pants This DVD performance features: Steve Lukather (Guitar), Simon Phillips (Drums), David Garfield, and John Penn.
