Soliloquy And FPS To Jointly Exhibit At CEDIA EXPO

24-Sep-02

Soliloquy Loudspeaker Corp. (www.solspeak.com) has announced a joint showing with FPS Flat Panel Speaker Technology (www.fpshifi.com) at the CEDIA EXPO. Under the design aegis of Albert Von Schweikert, FPS introduces a revised and upgraded version of the flagship F-1 tower speaker first introduced at the Home Entertainment Show in New York earlier this year. The F-1 combines conventional dynamic woofers with the firm's unique MCMA planar-wave dynamic flat panel transducers. Prototypes of smaller F-2 and F-3 models, developed in conjunction with Soliloquy's Dave Berman will also be shown, as will be two on-wall models, P-1 and P-2, that employ the firm's proprietary MCMA quasi-ribbon technology to create high-performance speakers as flat as plasma displays. Soliloquy will premiere its new Model 6.0 6.5-inch two-way monitor speaker which introduces revised baffle cosmetics with round-over vertical and horizontal solid wood edging. Finish options include real wood Walnut, Curly Maple, and Black Ash veneers, as well as metallic automotive and standard lacquers. Soliloquy is also launching five new in-wall speakers ($200 to $2000 per pair) based on its exclusive driver technology engineered by Phil Jones. The IW5, IW6, and IW6A are 5.25-inch and 6.5-inch two-way plate mounts, respectively, with the IW6A substituting a high-output aluminum woofer for the standard polyfiber version. The IC6 is a coaxial in-ceiling design, while the 5.0 HPIW recreates the company's Model 5.0 monitor speaker in a fully enclosed in-wall configuration with interchangeable wood veneer baffles. As the exclusive North American importer/distributor for American Acoustic Development, a.k.a. AAD, Soliloquy will also launch the new AAD S-Series ($200 to $1,500 per pair) which sports proprietary Phil Jones transducers, crossover and industrial design, and introduces new cosmetics with curved baffles to the AAD lineup. The S-Series comprises monitor/rear, tower, center, and subwoofer models.
