The Rolling Stones Remastered In SACD

The SACD group has announced that the entire ABKCO/London Records/Decca catalog of Rolling Stones albums will be re-released in a series of dual-layer hybrid Super Audio CDs under the banner The Rolling Stones Remastered.Twenty-two albums, including Let It Bleed, Out Of Our Heads, Decemberís Children, and Beggars Banquet have already been restored and will be released on SACD using the CD layer to allow the discs to be played on standard CD players. The high-density layer will carry the higher quality Direct Stream Digital (DSD) version of each album in its original release format (both mono and stereo). The series benefits from the latest digital remastering techniques, which were produced at Bob Ludwigís Gateway Mastering. An all-out effort went into the project to find the best and purest sources of The Rolling Stonesí work. Donít expect audiophile quality, as the Stones were known for the ìrawnessî of their sound, and the natural distortion that resulted within the original sessions are now more evident than ever. All of the 22 albums were scheduled for release worldwide on August 20 through Universal Music at a suggested single album retail price of $19US.
