SIM2 Enhances Dual-Mode DLP Projector With HT200 DMF

1-Oct-02

SIM2 Multimedia S.p.A. and SIM2 USA announced the HT200 DMF, a dual-mode DLPô projector with internal Faroudja processing. The latest addition to the Grand Cinema line of DLP projectors, the HT200 DMF is an enhanced version of the HT200DM that premiered in 2001. The Grand Cinema HT200 DMF is based on the 480p DLP Widescreen Component Set by Texas Instruments, and features dual modes. The projector boasts two selectable resolution modes: 16:9 widescreen standard with a resolution of 848 x 480 pixels, and 4:3 with a resolution of 800 x 600 pixels. The projector is enhanced by a built-in deinterlacer and video enhancement (DCDiô) powered by Faroudja Laboratories. This new technology applies motion adaptive deinterlacing that prevents the introduction of motion artifacts and jagged edges from video signals that originated from video cameras. The DCDi also features patented inverse 3:2 pulldown with advanced edit detection for reconstruction of the original film frame. SIM2's six-segment color wheel increases the frequency of the colored images and reduces color separation artifacts (commonly referred to as the ""rainbow effect""). The color wheel is built to SIM2 specifications, which call for a larger red segment and smaller green and blue segments. The HT200 DMF has an MSRP of $8,595.
