SIM2 SËleco USA, through their parent company SIM2 Multimedia S.p.A., unveiled the new Grand Cinema RTX line, a series of DLPô home theatre rear-projection monitors.ìHome theatre is evolving,î says Maurizio Cini, CEO of SIM2 Multimedia. ìConsumers are demanding a cinematic experience in a variety of rooms in the house, and are not willing to sacrifice picture quality. We created the Grand Cinema RTX to meet the needs of those who demand cutting-edge technology as well as breathtaking design consistent with the image of their home.î The first self-contained display from SIM2, based on the HD2 Digital Micromiror Deviceô by Texas Instruments, Grand Cinema RTX monitors boast a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. In addition, SIM2 is the first manufacturer to use digital optic image processing through fiber optic cabling in a DLP-based monitor. In the RTX, a single fiber optic cable is coupled with a system of two laser beams that allow you to connect to video sources up to 1,640 feet away. The fiber optic cable connects to SIM2's proprietary DigiOptic Image Processor (DOIP). The Grand Cinema RTX features the same sealed light engine as in the HT300 PLUS, a design exclusive to SIM2 that is said to lead to less maintenance and a longer life span. A built-in deinterlacer and video enhancement (DCDiô), powered by Faroudja applies motion adaptive deinterlacing, which prevents the introduction of motion artifacts and jagged edges from video signals that originated from video cameras. DCDi also features patented inverse 3:2 pulldown with advanced edit detection for reconstruction of the original film frame. As with all products in the Grand Cinema line, consumers can keep the RTX up-to-date. The RS232 port in the RTXís DOIP allows for the ability to download the latest software for the product via www.sim2USA.com. The Grand Cinema RTX currently consists of two different products: a 45-inch monitor (RTX-45) and a 55-inch monitor (RTX-55). Available and shipping in October, the RTX-45 and RTX-55 have MSRPs of $10,995 and $12,995, respectively. For more information, visit www.sim2usa.com.
