Accurate Imaging Technologies Announces Additions To Digital Pathway Series

7-Oct-02

Accurate Imaging Technologies, a specialist in high-performance video systems for home theatres, announced a complete lineup of new products as part of their Digital Pathway Series at CEDIA EXPO 2002. Specializing in the sales and support of high-performance video systems for the home theatre market, Accurate Imaging Technologies has developed the Digital Pathway Series, offering a variety of high-performance video projectors, digital video image processors, and leading-edge DVD players that work together to keep the video signal in the digital domain for as long as possible. Currently, CRT-based displays have the best capability of reproducing the shades of gray, the range of colors, and the black levels that distinguish film from other sources. CRTs provide the pinnacle in bright, clear, distortion-free pictures regardless of aspect ratio, picture size, and mounting considerations. Accurate Imaging brings considerable R&D resources and expertise to the project of taking CRT projectors to a new level. This includes equipping CRT-based systems with digital signal pathways designed to harness the latest developments in digital and high-definition sources and software. Accurate Imaging's line of new CRT-projectors includes: - The Ultimate 9--the company's flagship 9-inch CRT-based projector, featuring extensive convergence and setup features. Suggested retail price: $50,000. - The Ultimate 8--the company's flagship 8-inch CRT-based projector, featuring extensive convergence and setup features. Suggested retail price: $34,000. - The Accurate 8 is an 8-inch CRT projector, featuring a variety of image enhancing modifications. Suggested retail price: $26,500. - The Modular 9 and Modular 8 separate the electronics from the CRTs, for a unique two-piece front projection system. This creates a smaller footprint for mounting or placing the CRTs (about 50 percent smaller), accommodating smaller sized rooms. The electronics fit into a cabinet or rack mount. Pricing for both is to be announced. - The Ultimate X-Modification is a complete upgrade of all components in any of the projectors to the highest level of performance and long-term stability. Suggested retail price: $6,000. The beginning of the digital pathway starts at the DVD player or source component. The Digital Pathway DP-DVD Player provides a single digital output using a BNC connector. S-Video and composite video are also provided for other video sources. The DP-DVD also features state-of-the-art audio components. A single digital coax output is provided, as well as analog stereo outputs. The DP-DVD retails for $5,000. Processing is the next step in the digital video chain, and Accurate Imaging offers three possible options. The first is an Internal Scaler Card that fits directly into the projector. Second, using Terranex and Faroudja technology, Accurate Imaging was able to make two distinctly different HD video processors. - The Digital Pathway HDI-SC1 Internal HD Scaler Card fits inside the projector, providing another digital input (BNC connector), an S-video, and composite input. The digital input receives a signal directly from the DVD's digital output and upconverts the incoming signal to high-definition--switchable between 720p or 1080i. For simplicity in setup and calibration, the scaler card uses a camera that plugs into the card that will automatically adjust color accuracy, gray scale, and luminance in 250 screen zones. The HDI-SC1 card retails for $4,000. - The Digital Pathway Ultimate HD Processors receives the digital input from the DVD player or any standard NTSC video input (4:2:2) and upconverts them to either 720p or 1080i. The HDTV upconverter uses an individual microprocessor for every pixel in the image. The Model 1 is based on a single board design, while the Model 3 is a triple board design, offering more motion adaptive interpolation. The Model 1 retails for $45,000, while the Model 3 sells for $55,000. - Combined with either HD Processor, the Digital Pathway HD DAC Card receives the digital output from the Ultimate HD Processors and converts it to RGB. The retail is $3,500. All Accurate Imaging products and installations are supported by experienced home theatre technicians in the field, as well as by phone and e-mail.
