Snell Announces The Introduction Of A Subwoofer Amplifier

11-Oct-02

Snell Acoustics has introduced an external subwoofer amplifier, the SPA200, at CEDIA EXPO 2002. The SPA200 is a 19-inch rack-mountable amplifier for Snell's passive subwoofers. The amp delivers 140 watts at 8 ohms of continuous power (210 watts into 4 ohms). It features a variable low-pass filter (40 Hz-160 Hz, 24 dB/octave), variable level control, plus a phase switch. It comes with switchable EQ, specifically optimized to flatten and extend the response of Snell's passive subwoofers, specifically the in-wall AMC Sub 12 and in-cabinet ICS Sub 12, as well as future models. The SPA200 also provides a 12-volt and input-sensing turn-on. There is a stereo line level input, in addition to an LFE line level with crossover bypass. The LFE input should be used with surround processors that provide their own internal and adjustable crossover. All inputs are gold-plated RCA connectors. The SPA200 has an MSRP of $750.
