Integra THX Ultra DVD-Audio Player Gets Progressive

14-Oct-02

Integra has added progressive scan video output to the latest version of its DVD-Audio/Video player, the Integra DPS-7.3. The THXÆ Ultra-certified player features 192 kHz/24-bit audio DACs, Direct Digital Path, and a Video Circuit Off mode. The Integra DPS-7.3 has a 54 MHz/10-bit video DAC. The player supports 16:9 and 4:3 aspect ratios. It also features quick-start play, three-speed fast-forward and reverse, and four slow motion playback modes from 1/2 to 1/16 normal speed. On-screen display and a front-panel joystick provide navigation and control of the player's menus and feature controls. The player features internal decoding of DVD-Audio, DolbyÆ Digital, and DTSÆ formats. It can play DVD-Audio and DVD-Video, CD, CD-R/RW, Video CD, MP3, DVD-R, and DVD-RW. Integra's Direct Digital Path provides a direct signal path to the coaxial digital output, using a heavy gauge shielded coaxial cable, instead of the PC board traces normally used. In addition, the player features a Video Circuit Off mode which shuts down the video circuitry during audio playback. The Integra DPS-7.3 features a six-channel analog output, one stereo output, plus optical and coaxial digital outputs. There are dual component, S-video, and composite video outputs, IR input and output, and a bidirectional RS-232 control port for interfacing with home automation systems. The DPS-7.3 has a suggested retail price of $800. For more information about Integra, visit www.integrahometheater.com.
