Samsung Electronics America is offering a mail-in rebate off the purchase or installment of an HDTV antenna. Known as the ""Tune-In And Turn-On To HDTV"" promotion, consumers are eligible for the rebate with the purchase of a Samsung digital set-top box tuner. With a digital set top box tuner and an HDTV antenna, consumers can receive free, over-the-air HDTV broadcasts. Beginning this week, and running through January 15, 2003, consumers will be eligible for a rebate of up to $50 when they purchase one of Samsung's HDTV tuner models (SIR-T150, SIR-T151, SIR-TS160, or SIR-T165). The rebate offer is good with the purchase or installation of any manufacturer's HDTV tuner antenna. The $50 rebate only applies for the purchase or installation of a HDTV antenna and not for the installation of a DirecTVÆ system.""Samsung is leading the way for the transition to HDTV by educating consumers and offering incentives to purchase HDTV equipment,"" said Frank Romeo, Director of Samsung's Digital Set Top Box Group. ""According to the National Association of Broadcasters, 475 stations in 143 markets offer free, over-the-air digital broadcasts from major networks, reaching 90 percent of all U.S. households right now. Samsung's 'Tune-In And Turn-On To HDTV' promotion will help educate consumers that Samsung is providing a means for consumers to view these broadcasts and enjoy the full benefits of their HDTV setup today. Samsung is dedicated to leading HDTV into the consumer mainstream; educating consumers and providing incentives to enjoy HDTV broadcasts plays a big role in our ongoing effort.""For more information about Samsung Electronics America, visit www.samsungusa.com.
