Yamaha Electronics Corporation introduced several new audio and video components at CEDIA EXPO 2002. New entries included two video projectors, a plasma display, DVD players, a DVD recorder, A/V receivers, and micro-component systems. The DPX-1000 is Yamaha's new high-end projector, which incorporates Texas Instrument's second-generation DLPô technology. Yamaha's flagship DVD-S2300 single-disc player supports DVD-Audio and SACD, as well as progressive scan with Faroudja DCDi video processing. It features 54 MHz/12-bit video DACs and comprehensive bass management. Yamaha is also offering the DVD-S530, which plays MP3, Video CDs, and SVCDs. The new receivers include the RX-V1300, RX-V2300, and RX-V3300. Rated at 100, 110, and 130 watts per channel, respectively, these receivers are designed for 6.1-channel (RX-V3300 has 8.1 channels) playback and feature Yamaha's Digital ToP-ART, 192 kHz/24-bit audio DACs for all channels, 32-bit DSP, and compatibility with all surround formats. In addition, the RX-V2300 and RX-V3300 feature an RS-232C interface for custom installation. The Yamaha PDM-1 is a 50-inch, 16:9 high-definition plasma monitor, featuring Yamaha's ""Natural Black,"" said to yield a 3,000:1 contrast ratio. The monitor features a pearl white bezel. Yamaha's new DRX-1 DVD recorder uses the DVD+RW format, which makes it compatible with most DVD players. The DVD+RW discs are also re-recordable without having to be finalized or definalized. Yamaha's new LPX-500 is an LCD projector that offers true 16:9 HDTV compatibility for 720p. The unit features DCDi video processing and a short-throw lens. Yamaha has expanded its line of Cinema Station home theatre systems with the introduction of the DVX-S60, a 5.1-channel system package with a DVD player. Yamaha also displayed the YST-SW1500, their new flagship subwoofer, the CDR-HD1000, and the MCR-300 and MCR-500 PianoCraft micro-component systems. The YST-SW1500 subwoofer features the latest in Yamaha's YST and QD bass technology, and is available in a choice of Black or Cherry Wood finishes.
