Sherbourn Technologies has introduced the first seven-channel amplifier, the Model 7/2100, which includes seven monoblock sections, seven toroidal transformers, seven heat sinks, and two power cords. The Model 7/2100 offers 200 and 300 watts into 8 and 4 ohms, respectively. There are a total of 56 bipolar/MOSFET devices used throughout the unit, and over 140,000 microfarads capacitance for the power supplies. The Model 7/2100's monoblock concept is claimed to deliver identical power to each channel, with a peripheral advantage of minimizing cross-talk between channels. The rear panel includes XLR and RCA inputs, gold-plated five-way binding posts, a low-volt trigger input, and the LDS (Load Detection Systemô) control that the company says helps facilitate speaker installation. The suggested retail price for the Model 7/2100 is $2,850.For more information, visit www.sherbourn.com.
