Telarc International Corporation, one of the leaders in surround sound recording, took home two Surround Music Awards at the first annual Surround 2002 Conference.Telarc garners acclaim for Best Mix - Orchestral for Paavo J?rvi & the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra's recording of Sibelius' Symphony No. 2 in D Major and Tubin's Symphony No. 5 in B Minor, as well as Best Made For Surround - for Los Angeles Guitar Quartet's: LAGQ Latin. Both recordings have been released on CD and SACD. The list of finalists were heavily publicized among the UEM family of magazines, including Surround Professional, Residential Systems, Medialine and Pro Sound News. The five finalists in each category were judged by a five member blue ribbon panel who selected the award winners, based on extended individual listening sessions.The Surround Music Awards were established by Surround 2002 producers United Entertainment Media, publisher of Surround Professional, to honor excellence in the specific field of multi-channel and high-resolution music production. The Surround 2002 Conference and serves as the forum for the First Annual Surround Music Awards, recognizing the best in surround sound arts and sciences. Surround 2002, the premier annual event for surround education and surround industry networking, was held in Beverly Hills on December 13 & 14, 2002.
