Even for a ìmusicianís musician,î the American guitarist has a prodigious output of recordings and an almost supernatural musical determination.In 1988, while recording ìOn Solid Ground,î Larry Carlton was seriously wounded when caught up in a random shooting outside his studio door. After an emergency operation he underwent months of intensive therapy, but thanks to his willpower, this exceptional musician has since made a full recovery. This traumatic experience has had no audible effects on his work. Carlton still tours around the world and makes studio recordings as brilliantly played as they are deeply felt.Fleet-fingered Larry has been performing magic on the strings for more than three decades now sometimes gently and with feeling, sometimes faster and more determined. Sometimes he plays in a jazz context, at other times for blues, rock, folk, pop and soundtrack productions.
