10-Jan-03

Norcent Technology, Inc., a marketer of high-quality, competitively priced home entertainment, computer, and memory products, has introduced two LCD monitors and an LCD television at the 2003 International Consumer Electronics Show. The 14-, 15-, 17-, and 20-inch monitors feature a TFT active matrix display screen, while the 15-inch (diagonal) TV has a high-resolution panel that offers over two times more pixels than standard LCD televisions. The models are part of 15 new product introductions Norcent is making at this year's show. ""Our plug-and-play LCD monitors are not only easy to set up and use, but provide exceptional picture quality with nearly side-to-side viewing,"" said Jennifer Long, Norcent CEO. ""Whether set on a desktop or wall-mounted, they definitely save space. Plus, their flip-down design allows positioning angles of up to 90 degrees. Our Norcent low-pricing structure assures more consumers than ever before will be able to enjoy the many advantages of using an LCD monitor."" Both units feature XGA resolution (1024 x 768), a high contrast ratio of 350:1, and no electromagnetic wave emission, assuring that no signal distortion and no harmful radiation is released. Each comes with built-in stereo speakers and OSD digital control for all functions. Optional features include composite video and S-video inputs, a USB connection, and a TV tuner. Both sizes are available in three stylish colors: Pearl gray, beige, or black/silver. A flat stand with flip-down capabilities is included. ""Our new LCD TV offers discerning buyers a stylish, high-tech-looking, space-saving unit with outstanding picture clarity,"" commented Long. ""It's perfect for virtually any room in the house. It offers a super-high contrast ratio of 500:1 and XGA resolution that assure viewers a clean, crystal-clear, virtually flawless picture."" The ultra-thin (only 2.2 inches deep), HDTV-compatible unit features true surround sound capability; dynamic cinema scanning; both 3-D edge and 3-D comb filtering, which add to picture clarity; sleep timer; and power-saving technology. It includes inputs for composite video, component video, S-video, D-sub, and PC audio.
