JVC Introduces DVD Receiver Home Theatre Systems

Sleek Player/Receivers Offer Progressive Scan DVD And Two Include A Five-Disc Changer

For consumers who want a space-saving home theatre system that combines high style, performance, and ease of use, JVC offers its new line of DVD receiver home theatre systems, four complete packages each offering a sleek DVD receiver matched with a six-piece speaker system. ""Home entertainment enjoyment and value is all about convenience and quality,"" said Karl Bearnarth, Vice President, Consumer Audio Division, JVC Company of America. ""Our 2003 integrated home theatre systems feature a slim design that belies their performance and convenience features."" All three JVC integrated home theatre systems include an elegantly designed, low-profile silver DVD receiver with a progressive scan output to get the most out of today's digital televisions, playback of MP3 and JPEG files on a CD, DolbyÆ Digital and DTSÆ decoding, Dolby Pro LogicÆ II, DSP modes, a multi-brand remote, and six speakers--left and right front, left and right rear surround, center channel, and a powered subwoofer. The value leader in the series is the TH-A35, with total system power of 325 watts: 45 watts per channel for the five main speakers and a 100-watt powered subwoofer. Each satellite speaker is a compact, full-range design. It also offers one analog and one digital audio input, and three video outputs: component, S-video, and composite. The TH-M45 offers a five-disc changer and 600 watts of total system power--120 watts for each left and right front speaker, 80 watts for the center channel and each of the two rear speakers, and a 120-watt powered subwoofer with a 6-5/16-inch woofer. It also features a digital direct progressive scan output, a high-performance single-chip A/V decoder, AV Compu Link for integration with other JVC components, and to the TH-M35's input/output set adds one composite video and one S-video input. The TH-M45's satellite speakers are compact, full-range models and include a horizontal center speaker. The TH-M55, another five-disc changer system, offers 100 watts for each of the five audio channels and comes with two-way speakers. The top-of-the-line TH-M65 includes the same feature set as the TH-M55, but offers a digital audio output and a 120-watt powered subwoofer in a larger cabinet with an 8-inch woofer. In addition, the front and rear speakers are tall, slim, pole-type floor-standing designs. All four JVC DVD receiver systems will be available in the second quarter of 2003 at Nationally Advertised Values as follows: TH-A35, $330; TH-M45, $450; TH-M55, $660; TH-M65, $900.
