JVC Announces I'Art Pro 34-Inch High-Definition Widescreen Television

First JVC Widescreen CRT Model Offers New D.I.S.T. For 1500i HD Signal, Dual Auto-Sensing Component Video Inputs, And DVI/HDCP Input

Establishing a new benchmark in television performance, JVC announced plans to market its first high-definition widescreen CRT model, a 34-inch set in the I'Art Pro line featuring JVC's new D.I.S.T. (Digital Image Scaling Technology) that upconverts signals to 1500i. ""Our high-definition I'Art Pro rear-projection televisions have been extremely well-received,"" said Dan McCarron, National Product Specialist, Color Television Division, JVC Company of America. ""With the addition of a widescreen CRT model we now offer the high-definition customer a choice with an innovative new model that delivers outstanding performance."" JVC's new I'Art Pro AV-34WP84 includes an updated version of JVC's DSD (Digital Super Detail) circuitry--HD DSD--and a 16 MHz/10-bit 3D Y/C digital comb filter, along with such home theatre features as TheaterPro 6500K color temperature, Digital Noise Clear Circuitry, an interactive plug-in menu, XDS ID display, and Natural Cinema 3:2 pull-down detection with on/off capability for all telecine sources. It also includes JVC's unique Natural Progressive picture improvement technologies to optimize signal quality before the picture is displayed on the screen. JVC's 10.95 Million Pixel Natural Progressive technology doubles the image data in each field and uses advanced 3-D interpolation to display a solid image without any noticeable scanning lines, and eliminates jagged edge noise and image trails. A DVI 1.0-compatible input with HDCP (High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection) offers an uncompressed solution to the transmission and display of high-definition content. Other features include dual auto-sensing component video inputs to ensure the best possible picture quality whether a viewer is using DTV, DVD, or D-VHS; three S-video (two rear, one front) inputs; four A/V inputs (three rear, one front); and dual NTSC tuners with split-screen, PIP, and index feature. For audio performance, the TV incorporates BBEÆ High Definition Sound Enhancement and new Advanced Hyper Surround that complements the 20-watt audio package. Also included is the convenient AV CompuLink III for connectivity with JVC audio and video products. The AV-34WP84 is scheduled for release July 2003 at a Nationally Advertised Value of $2,499.95.
