17-Jan-03

JVC today announced a revised and upgraded line of high-definition monitors, featuring the company's Digital Image Scaling Technology (D.I.S.T.) and a sleek new look. The line includes two HDTV monitors, one 32-inch set and a 36-inch model, that use JVC's D.I.S.T. to upconvert signals to 1080i resolution. Each set is housed in an elegant, contemporary silver two-tone cabinet and includes a full range of performance and convenience features. ""Our I'Art Pro line has been very successful because it offers all the performance and features that the most demanding HDTV customer expects,"" said Dan McCarron, National Product Specialist, Color Television Division, JVC Company of America. ""By giving the line a fresh, stylish look we feel it will only become stronger."" JVC's I'Art Pro HDTV monitors--the AV-32DF74 and AV-36DF74--are both dual-tuner PIP digital TVs with multi-indexing. At the touch of a button, viewers can activate Natural Cinema 3:2 pull-down to deliver an image that is faithful to the original film source, while maximum enjoyment of anamorphic DVDs is just the push of a button away with the activation of the 16:9 raster compression mode. Both sets include updated DSD (Digital Super Detail) circuitry--HD DSD, a 16 MHz/10-bit 3-D Y/C digital comb filter, and such home theatre features as TheaterPro 6500K color temperature, Digital Noise Clear Circuitry, an interactive plug-in menu, and XDS ID display. A DVI input with HDCP (High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection) offers an uncompressed solution to the transmission and display of high-definition content. The I'Art Pro DF74 Series monitors include dual auto-sensing component video inputs, assuring the best possible picture quality whether the source is DTV, DVD, or D-VHS. These 1080i HDTVs also feature three S-video (Y/C) inputs, four A/V (RCA) inputs and dual NTSC tuners. They also include JVC's unique Natural Progressive picture improvement technologies to optimize signal quality before the picture is displayed. JVC's 10.95 Million Pixel Natural Progressive technology doubles the image data in each field and uses advanced 3-D interpolation to display a solid image without any noticeable scanning lines, and eliminates jagged edge noise and image trails. For the audio portion of the DF74 Series, JVC incorporates BBEÆ High Definition Sound Enhancement along with a new Advanced Hyper Surround Sound to complement the built-in 20-watt amplifier. JVC also includes AV CompuLink III for connectivity with the company's audio and video products. JVC's AV-32DF74 and AV-36DF74 will be available July 2003 at Nationally Advertised Values of $1,399.95 and $1,799.95, respectively.
