Demonstrating its commitment to providing consumers with the widest choice in home theatre solutions, Denon now offers a complete line of all-in-one home theatre systems that combine simplicity and ease of use with cinema-like picture and sound quality. At CES 2003, the company showcased its progressive scan DVD-equipped DHT-1000DV, DHT-683DVD, and DHT-483DVD home theatre systems, now shipping to Denon retailers nationwide. Two of the systems, models DHT-683XP and DHT-483XP, are also available without DVD players. Denon's complete home theatre systems are designed to offer consumers a total home entertainment solution, with room-filling audio and advanced convenience features, along with sleek designs featuring polished black-finish components and matching speakers. All systems include a full-featured A/V receiver, four satellite speakers, a center-channel speaker and a subwoofer, as well as an illuminated Glo-Key remote control and all necessary cables. ""The all-in-one home theatre category is one of the fastest-growing in the consumer electronics industry,"" noted Stephen Baker, Denon Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing. ""More people than ever before are looking for simple yet uncompromising solutions to bring the movie theatre experience home, with easy set-up and full access to home theatre and music surround sound playback. At Denon, we believe that ease-of-use and total user convenience does not preclude high-performance. That's why each of our home theatre systems incorporates advanced technologies that have previously only been available in our higher-priced separates."" Baker concluded, ""With these introductions, Denon is taking a clear leadership position in this category, giving consumers more choice in how they want to experience great home theatre. Whether they're looking for a complete system with an advanced DVD player, or want to incorporate an existing DVD player into a system, Denon has a high-performance solution."" Legendary Denon Engineering And Build Quality The key to Denon's superiority in integrated home theatre systems begins with the company's legendary engineering and build quality. Denon engineers were given a clear goal: create home theatre systems that utilize all of Denon's renowned expertise in audio/video technologies and provide both the ultimate in ease-of-use and performance. The result is five integrated systems--each with audio/video components and loudspeakers every bit equal in capabilities and features as today's high-performance separates--all designed to work together seamlessly. Each system is designed to function virtually as a single component, providing rich, room-filling audio, with all features and capabilities available at the touch of a single remote. Bringing Cinema-Quality Sound Home Denon has taken the concept of integrated home theatre to the next level with its new all-in-one systems. For instance, a special Cinema Equalizer function on all systems creates a sonic ""audio envelope"" that is closer to the movie theatre experience than ever before. The soundtracks from movie sources are often emphasized in the high frequencies (due to differences in room environments and equalization requirements between a movie theatre and the home). When this sound is reproduced in a home theatre setting, the highs can be over-emphasized. To remedy the situation, Denon's Cinema Equalizer function automatically compensates for the front-channel frequency emphasis, balancing the sound for a more realistic and enjoyable home theatre experience. Denon DHT-683DVD: The Complete One-Piece Home Theatre Solution Denon's DHT-683DVD home theatre system is an example of the company's commitment to providing consumers with a one-piece home theatre solution, combining superior all-in-one operation with unprecedented value and performance. Both the DHT-683DVD and the DHT-483DVD incorporate the company's advanced DVD-900 DVD player with progressive scan technology and a premium 54 MHz/10-bit video DAC. Image quality is further enhanced by the inclusion of Faroudja DCDiô high-resolution digital video circuitry--leading-edge digital processing that eliminates motion artifacts such as jagged edges on moving images, and improves picture detail and definition. Powerful A/V Receivers For Room-Filling Audio and More Denon has built its reputation on providing discriminating audiophiles with high-end receivers capable of reproducing music with unsurpassed quality and sonic excellence--and the company continues this tradition with its new home theatre systems. At the heart of each system is an advanced audio/video receiver offering a host of performance and convenience features for exceptional audio quality and ease of use. The A/V receivers in all Denon systems include multiple video output options for maximum user flexibility and image quality. The receiver in the DHT-683DVD system delivers 80 watts into each of its five main channels, and the system's powered subwoofer features a 6-inch woofer and a built-in 55-watt amplifier. This generous power output, along with the receiver's 5.1-channel Dolby Digital and DTS decoding provides powerful, detailed, and dynamic surround sound reproduction of DVD movie soundtracks and multichannel music discs. The DHT-483DVD receiver provides 70 watts to each of the five main channels and includes a 55-watt powered subwoofer. The DHT-1000DV system features a combination DVD player and A/V receiver in a single chassis, which delivers 40 watts of power to each main channel loudspeaker as well as to the subwoofer. A Dolby Pro LogicÆ II decoder, included in all system receivers, delivers realistic 5.1-channel surround sound from two-channel stereo and other matrix-encoded surround formats for heightened surround sound realism. In addition, 96 kHz/24-bit audio D/A converters deliver high-resolution audio quality from all sources. All Denon DVD-equipped home theatre systems also feature built-in MP3 decoders, providing up to ten hours of music from a single MP3-encoded CD. External inputs are included to connect a VCR, satellite receiver, or other external A/V source. For maximum home entertainment flexibility, all Denon DVD-equipped home theatre systems also offer CD, CD-R, and CD-RW playback, making them the ideal sources for movies and music. A convenient Auto Decode function provides total ease of operation by detecting the type of disc and its surround format (Dolby Digital, DTS, or music CD), then automatically playing the disc in the appropriate format; it also automatically switches to 5.1-channel surround sound when listening to digital broadcast satellite programming. All Denon home theatre systems include a host of additional performance and convenience features such as front-panel A/V inputs, Personal Memory Plus for easy operation of all system functions, as well as an Auto Function button (located on the remote) that will continue playing a disc from where it was stopped even if the power was turned off. All systems also feature a high-quality AM/FM tuner with 40-station-preset memory tuning, treble and bass controls, digital outputs for connection to a CD recorder, and many additional features. Advanced Speaker Technology All Denon home theatre systems are supplied with high-quality, magnetically shielded speakers that deliver richly detailed, expansive, room-filling sound. All systems include four two-way satellite speakers, plus a dedicated, matched center channel speaker and a compact yet powerful subwoofer. The satellite speakers all feature advanced-technology, 3-1/2-inch high-compliance woofers and 3/4-inch silk dome tweeters, premium internal components, and heavy-duty enclosures. The receivers in all systems also include a Virtual Surround Sound function that provides a surround sound effect from just two speakers, if the user cannot install all the speakers in the system. The speakers have a rich black finish with matching grilles. All Denon home theatre systems are currently available, with suggested retail prices as follows: DHT-1000DV, $1,299; DHT-683DVD, $949; DHT483DVD, $849; DHT683-XP, $649; and the DHT643-XP, $549.
