Samsung Electronics America, Inc., has debut the DVD-P731M progressive scan DVD player. Support for 480p progressive scan video output ensures that the DVD-P731M outputs the highest-quality DVD video possible. ""Enabling flash memory playback via Samsung's DVD players adds convenience and simplicity to consumers wanting to view pictures on their big-screen TVs or listen to MP3 digital audio on their large speakers,"" said J.R. deSouza, Marketing Manager of Digital Video, Samsung Electronics America. When used with a compatible digital television monitor, the DVD-P731M offers crystal clear, flicker-free images through Samsung's 480p progressive scan system. The model is also a digital photographer's dream, offering support for four flash memory formats: Memory Stick, SD, Smart Media, and Multi-Media Card formats. That makes the DVD-P731M perfect for fast viewing of digital images or the playback of digital music. As an added bonus, the model can playback JPEG CDs and Photo CDs. Samsung's DVD-P731M supports CD, MP3, WMA, and CD-R/RW. The memory card function can also be used for playback of digital audio files, such as MP3s. A remote control allows users to glide through DVD menus--or the player's advanced on-screen graphic user interface that controls the players' functions--with their fingertip. A shuttle dial on the front panel also allows for easy navigation and there's a headphone jack with volume control on the front of the player. Samsung's DVD-P731M (MSRP $229) ships in July. For more information about Samsung Electronics America, Inc., visit www.samsungusa.com.
