RBH Adds To Its Line Of Custom In-Wall/In-Ceiling Speakers

RBH Sound Inc. introduced four new additions to their custom in-wall/in-ceiling speaker offerings including two commercial in-ceiling speakers. The TK-615 is a two-way loudspeaker similar to RBH's TK-6 in-wall loudspeaker, but designed for in-ceiling applications. The TK-615 features a 6-1/2-inch fiberglass-matrix woofer, mated with a 1-inch aluminum swivel tweeter, which can be aimed at the listening position. Current interrupt circuitry (featured in RBH's popular TK Series) is also utilized to protect the tweeter.The MCS-88, newest member of RBH's MC Series, is a dual 8-inch in-wall subwoofer with an ingenious twist. The MCS-88 features two 8-inch aluminum cone woofers, connected independently, allowing for installation flexibility. The MCS-88 can be wired as two separate 8-inch, 8-ohm subwoofers, or as one dual-8-inch, 4-ohm or 16-ohm subwoofer. Each configuration can also utilize the MCS-88's built-in low-pass crossover, which can be switched off when used with newer A/V receivers and preamplifiers with built-in bass management. The MCS-88 can deliver bass down to 40 Hz.For commercial applications, RBH offers the MC-615-70 and the A-615-70 in-ceiling loudspeakers. Both models feature a unique design that allows them to be run in a typical 8-ohm fashion, or selectable 70-volt operation. RBH designed a knob (accessed from the front of the speaker) to allow for selectable 8-ohm mode, or for 2, 4, 8, 16, and 32-watt taps for 70-volt operation, which allows great flexibility in both small and large commercial installations. In addition, the MC-615-70 features a tweeter level control (accessed from the front of the speaker), allowing the installer to choose from a standard level setting, or from -3 dB or +3 dB. Other features include a UL-listed fireproof rear enclosure and built-in eyelets to accommodate seismic straps to meet building codes. The MC-615-70 borrows its 6-1/2-inch aluminum woofer and 1-inch aluminum tweeter from RBH's residential MC Series speakers. For the budget-minded, the A-615-70 features a polygraphite 6-1/2-inch woofer mated with a 1-inch silk dome tweeter.Suggested retail pricing is as follows: TK-615, $329 per pair; MCS-88, $399 each; MC-615-70, $299 each; A-615-70, $179 each.
