Toshiba Introduces Its First Home Theatre-In-A-Box System

Toshiba, a primary developer and leader in DVD technology, announced the introduction of the company's first DVD Home Theater system. Toshiba's model SD-43HT is a slim design, integrated DVD, and receiver unit with Digital Cinema Progressive Scan, multichannel amplification, and is packaged with five satellite speakers and an 8-inch subwoofer. The SD-43HT offers a variety of features that will turn one's living room into an advanced home theatre. The integrated DVD player/receiver features ColorStream ProÆ progressive scan output. Optimizing the listening experience, the unit includes Dolby DigitalÆ, DTSÆ, and Dolby Pro LogicÆ II processing, in addition to three DSP modes and WMA and MP3 playback. The model is further enhanced with component and S-video outputs to meet a variety of monitor connections, as well as an optical digital input and two analog A/V inputs. The SD-43HT boasts six-channel amplification (50 W x 5 and a 70 W subwoofer). The color-coded connections add convenience and make set-up a snap.
