NAD Celebrates Their 30th Anniversary At CES 2003

3-Feb-03

NAD, the highly regarded manufacturer of affordable, high-performance audio and video components, is celebrating their 30th anniversary. Founded in 1972 as a dealer cooperative in Germany, a small group of high-end audio dealers developed a ""New Acoustic Dimension"" (or NAD for short) as an alternative to the mass-produced products by the major electronics companies. Administered out of Marty Borish's apartment in London, and employing the brilliant design and engineering talents of people like Bjorn Erik Edvardsen, NAD was born. Driven by a passion for great sound and the desire to cut through the marketing hype and over-elaboration that has become pervasive in the audio industry, NAD's tradition of creating ""giant killer"" performance has been well established over the last thirty years. The cornerstone of NAD's 30-year success story has been a clearly stated product and distribution philosophy: - Performance and musical integrity are first and foremost. - Offer value by avoiding costly but seldom-used features and elaborate chasses and displays. Spend the money on the inside where it will increase performance. - Simplicity is a virtue: keep the design and operation simple and uncluttered - Total commitment to limited, specialty distribution. NAD has grown to become a major brand, distributed in over 60 countries. Despite this success, NAD is still a specialist company dedicated to the same principles and product philosophy that gave rise to NAD. In fact, many of the same people who formed NAD are still involved in the company today, including founder Marty Borish. NAD Electronics of America is a division of Lenbrook America, responsible for NAD Electronics, PSB Speakers, and Aegis Systems distribution in all the Americas. Lenbrook has a long association with NAD, and was an original shareholder. In 1999, Lenbrook bought the right to the NAD trademark and has since been committed to an aggressive audio/video product development schedule. For thirty years now the critics have given NAD five-star ratings. For more information about NAD Electronics International, visit www.nadelectronics.com.
