""Home theatre-in-a-box entertainment systems are among the hottest items in the consumer electronics industry. For consumers, they offer an easy and affordable way to upgrade the living room to provide a real home theatre experience,"" said Craig McManis, Vice President of Marketing for the Home Entertainment Division of Pioneer Electronics (USA) Inc. ""Whether you are into movies, music, live sporting events or video games, the multichannel surround sound effects can dramatically improve the overall experience."" The system includes 600 watts of power, a five-disc DVD changer with DVD-Audio and Super Audio CD (SACD) playback, as well as progressive scan circuitry for DVD-Video. For fans of compressed audio, it also offers MP3 and Windows Media Audio (WMA) playback. It also offers 96 kHz/24-bit digital-to-analog conversion. HTZ-430DV This single play progressive scan DVD player with integrated multichannel receiver features five matching satellite speakers with a subwoofer, and 450 watts of total power. The system offers Dolby Digital, DTSÆ, and Dolby Pro Logic II surround processing/decoding, and a preprogrammed system remote. HTD-330DV Rounding out the new DVD-based home theatre systems, the system boasts 450 watts of power, a five-disc carousel DVD player with integrated receiver, and progressive scan DVD-Video playback. The HTD-330DV also offers playback of MP3 and WMA compressed audio formats. The system also decodes Dolby Digital-EX and DTS-ES software, and features Dolby Pro Logic II. HTP-230 Any existing DVD player can be transformed into a home theatre with the addition of the HTP-230 receiver and surround sound speaker package. The receiver, also sold separately as the VSX-D412, offers Dolby Digital, Dolby Pro Logic II, DTS decoding, and a 96 kHz/24-bit DACs. It features Pioneer's five-channels of high-quality, equal power amplification for 100 watts of amplifier power to all channels. All five amplifiers are of discrete configuration and utilize Pioneer's hybrid amplification system to ensure that the correct amount of bias signal is applied to each transistor for low distortion. It is designed to handle the full bandwidth of Dolby Digital and DTS software and is DVD-Audio ready. The HTD-630DV, HTD-530DV, and HTZ-430DV will be available in the summer. The HTD-330DV and HTP-230 will be available in April with a manufacturer's suggested retail price of $600 and $450, respectively.
