With the 45th Annual Grammy Awards on February 23, 2003, all eyes - and ears - will be focused on music next week. The added features and realistic surround sound of DVD bring fans closer than ever to their favorite artists. Music on DVD continues to be one of the fastest growth areas for the format. While the music industry has seen a downturn in overall sales, DVD Music Video sales were up 63 percent in 2002 and DVD-Audio sales saw 170 percent growth last year according to SoundScan.Concerts come to life in surround sound, while behind-the-scenes footage and documentaries give fans an intimate glimpse behind the music. DVD-Audio uses the format's extensive capacity to provide a major advance in audio quality bringing music lovers to the closest experience to being in the studio.
