The Advanced Television Systems Committee (ATSC), the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA), and the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) announced that 12 leading digital television (DTV) companies are sponsoring the ultimate DTV content and technology showcase -- the ""DTV Drafthouse: Technology On Tap!"" -- at the upcoming NAB 2003 convention, April 5-10 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Advanced Digital Broadcast Ltd. (ADB), ATI Technologies Inc., RDI Inc., Panasonic, Sharp, Sony, Thomson, Toshiba, and Zenith Electronics all are contributing products to the DTV Drafthouse, including a variety of DTV display technologies, receiving equipment, and audio components. In addition, ABC, CBS, HD Vision Studios, and NBC are providing DTV programming for convention attendees to enjoy in a bar setting. Finally, demonstrations, such as the DTV Applications Software Environment (DASE) Standard, Enhanced VSB, and Smart Antenna Interface will be conducted in a section of the DTV Drafthouse, allowing the NAB 2003 audience to view the latest technological advancements. The DTV Drafthouse, located in the Las Vegas Convention Center's Central Grand Lobby, will offer wine, beer, and snacks for sale during posted hours. The DTV Drafthouse exhibit will be open Saturday and Sunday, April 5 and 6, from 9am to 5:30pm; Monday, April 7, from 9am to 6pm; Tuesday and Wednesday, April 8 and 9, from 9am to 6:30pm; and Thursday, April 10 from 9am to 4:30pm.
