Toshiba's new plasma model, the 42HP83, has a panel resolution of 1024 x 768 and a rated contrast ratio of 1,000:1. The Toshiba 26HL83, 32HL83, and 42HP83 models feature many of the exclusive Toshiba technologies that are found in its CRT-based TV sets, such as DVI inputs, Toshiba's CrystalScan HDSC, CableClearô DNR+ video noise reduction, Cinema Mode (3:2 pulldown detection and processing), color temperature control, color detail enhancer, HD Dynamic Contrast, and movie and sports modes.The wide flat-panel models feature a new arch design. Both the 14VL43U and the 20VL43U feature a space-saving, tilt-panel design. All of Toshiba's flat-panel sets can sit on a table or be mounted on a wall. The 32- and 42-inch models also have optional matching floor stands.In addition to the MTS stereo/SAP with dbxÆ noise reduction, the full flat-panel line features SRSÆ WOW.
