Klipsch Audio Technologies has developed three new compact speakers for its Reference Series line. These three new models will be available only from authorized Klipsch Reference Series audio/video retail specialists and residential contractors. The RSX-4 and RSX-5 monitors and the RCX-4 center channel combine performance, style, and functionality for users who are seeking dynamic sound and an elegant appearance, but require small, unobtrusive speakers for their home entertainment systems. The new Reference Satellite speakers were designed for versatility, allowing consumers to create home theatre configurations that meet the specific needs of their listening areas. Both monitors and the center channel have integrated pedestal stands with ball joints that allow them to be adjusted in almost any direction by using the provided Allen wrench. Keyholes are provided on the underside of the stand base for wall mounting. Grilles magnetically snap into place over the cast-aluminum front baffles, while five-way binding posts ensure a secure connection to any type of cable. The new Klipsch RW subwoofers complete these Reference Satellite configurations.""The Reference Satellites have been designed to handle multiple installation applications with confidence that you're not trading off sound for style and convenience,"" said Paul Jacobs, COO of the Klipsch Worldwide Products Group. ""The Reference Satellites are Reference-quality speakers utilizing Reference-quality components, which were designed by our Reference engineering team.""All Reference Satellites are two-way, magnetically shielded speakers that use 1-inch titanium-dome compression drivers coupled to Klipsch's new round MicroTractrixÆ Horns. The RSX-4 and RSX-5 employ 4- and 5.25-inch woofers, respectively, while the RCX-4 has a pair of the 4-inch drivers flanking its MicroTractrix horn. The woofers are long-throw units powered by neodymium motor structures. The Cerametallicô cones are lightweight and rigid to reduce any resonance.""Our new Reference Satellites are real problem solvers,"" said Jacobs. ""A/V specialists are receiving great pressure to meet market demand for compact-sized audio solutions and Klipsch Reference Satellites are the high-performance, high-style answer.""As with all Reference Series models, these satellites feature high-quality network components and Monster CableÆ Bandwidth Balancedô internal wiring. The Reference Satellites are packaged individually for mix-and-match simplicity and will be available this summer at MSRPs of $150 for the RSX-4 monitor, $200 for the RSX-5 monitor, and $250 for the RCX-4 center channel. These satellites are also available in home theatre packages.
