Circles International presents SEEMUSICDVDô 5.1 Surround Sound DVD Videos & Stereo CDs

21-Aug-03

Circles International announces the launch of a remarkable new double-disc collectorís series of music DVDs packaged with stereo CDs, the innovative ìSEEMUSICDVDô Kaleidoplex Collection.î Each of six new albums being offered over the next year will feature original abstract video art specifically created for 5.1 surround sound and wide-screen DVD Video, plus a stereo CD included in each package. The cascading DVD visuals created by Marshall Yaeger (a.k.a. VJ Emjay) are digital realizations of artistic objects fractalized by Yaegerís Kaleidoplex software. In the 1970s, Yaeger patented a kaleidoscopic projector (which was the first improvement based on Brewsterís original invention since the 1920s) for Virgil Foxís crossover attraction, ìHeavy Organ.î The machine was used to accompany live music improvisatorially, and was featured at such venues as San Franciscoís Great American Music Hall, and at New Yorkís Bottom Line and Whitney Museum. The optically produced, vastly complex, round, colorful, and harmoniously symmetrical ìmandalasî have now been digitized, thereby greatly enhancing the control and accuracy of the images, which are rhythmically chosen to accompany the music. They have been artfully positioned into 16:9 wide screen format with surround sound for home theatre systems, permitting the content of the surrounding art to metamorphose into the central moving, pulsating, and constantly changing mandala images. The first album of the series is Sonic Bloom, a program featuring 14 pop classics performed by Larry Douglas Embury on the 4/49 Màller theatre pipe organ (second in size to only Radio City Music Hall) in Atlantaís Fox Theatre, accompanied by Emburyís additional performances on a Steinway concert grand piano, often with bass and drums. Among the surround sound songs heard on Sonic Bloom are such time-honored favorites as Cole Porterís ìMy Heart Belongs To Daddy,î George and Ira Gershwinís ìEmbraceable You,î Victor Youngís ìStella by Starlight,î and the inimitable ìYesterday,î by John Lennon and Paul McCartney. Each selection has its own unique visualization to complement Emburyís exceptionally rhythmic performances, setting forth fresh, vibrant ìvisual musicî experiences that are perfect for home entertainment or backseat viewing in a car (while the driver enjoys just the sound). Also being released this month is Heavy Organ: Tribute To Virgil Fox, a live concert album of five carefully chosen classical works, including Mozartís ìFantasy in F minor,î Vierneís Claire de lune, Franckís Grande PiÀce Symphonique, Hebbleís arrangement of the traditional song ìLondonderry Airî (a.k.a. ìDanny Boyî), and Reubkeís ìSonata in C minor,î performed by organist Richard Morris on Spivey Hallís Fratelli Ruffatti Organ. All accompanying images were createdand digitized by VJ Emjay. The third album on the SEEMUSICDVDô series scheduled to be released this fall, Harmonic Mandala Episode 1: Window to the Infinite, features electronica music streamlined with 60 minutes of moving Kaleidoplex visuals. It is an extraordinary product for anybody looking for an artistic aural and visual experience, music and art lovers alike, and it comes with a free, background ìwallpaperî for computers. The album demonstrates the electrifying result of combining Kaleidoplex images with beat-oriented popular music (the viewer may also turn off the sound and listen to his or her own favorite music or use for stress reduction and silent meditation), and is the first of many to come.
