New AudioControl Video And Audio Transmission Products Go The Distance

25-Aug-03

AudioControl has announced the addition of the BVD-20 and BVR-20 to its line of balanced video and audio transmitters. These latest additions to AudioControl's balanced line family of products can send component video signals (480i, 480p, and 720p) up to 1,000-feet over basic Cat. 5 wiring. An extra input and output also allows for the transmitting of a digital audio signal or a composite video signal. Like many AudioControl products, the BVD-20 and BVR-20 were designed with great video bandwidth, so they can also transmit a 1080i HD component signal up to 300 feet. ""Based on comments from our dealers, there are numerous potential applications for the BVD-20 and BVR-20,"" commented Chris Kane of AudioControl. ""The ability to send HD-quality video and digital audio over inexpensive Cat. 5 is a huge benefit for our dealers and their customers. This allows them to use wiring packages they installed yesterday to operate the technology of today...and hopefully tomorrow. Like the other AudioControl balanced line products, the BVD-20 and BVR-20 allows dealers an additional level of flexibility when it comes to installing the physical components of theatre and distributed audio products."" The BVD20 can accept and transmit a component video signal of 1080i, 720p, or 480 formats plus a digital audio or composite video signal. It then outputs these signals over basic Cat. 5 wiring, via an RJ-45 connector. The BVR-20 receives the signals from the BVD-20 via Cat. 5 cable and outputs component video and digital audio. Some of the potential applications for the BVD-20 and BVR-20 are: - A HD satellite converter can be mounted in an equipment rack in a distant room and the 1080i signal can be sent to a remote-mounted projector or a plasma monitor. - A system that requires both a component and composite signal to be sent from the theatre processor, like the AudioControl Maestro, to the remote-mounted projectors or monitors. The BVD-20 accepts RCA component video input and one RCA input that will work with digital audio or composite video. In addition, the BVD-20 and BVR-20 have the ability to pass almost 300 MHz of video bandwidth, making it ideal for HD applications. The BVD-20 and BVR-20 are constructed using top-grade components and ultra-low-noise circuit designs derived from the company's professional audio and instrumentation designs. Sold separately and available in September 2003, the BVD-20 and BVR-20 are backed by a five-year warranty. These new models join the BLD-10, BLR-10, BLX-10, BVD-10, and BVR-10 balanced audio components in the AudioControl Balanced Line Driver series. For more information, visit www.audiocontrol.com.
